Created for an exploration of multi-sensory art, this installation invites viewers to reconstruct the remnants of an unseen event. Inspired by the morning after a house party, the work places the audience in the role of an observer piecing together the fragmented narrative of the previous night. Scattered Polaroids, crushed potato chips, confetti, abandoned drinks, and forgotten personal items become clues, transforming the aftermath into a form of visual storytelling.
The installation occupies a narrow, enclosed hallway that evokes the entryway of a home, guiding viewers through the space one person at a time. The smell of stale beer and fermented wine lingers in the air, while dried spills cling beneath each step and crushed chips crackle underfoot. These sensory details blur the boundary between observation and participation, making the viewer an active presence within the scene rather than a detached spectator.
As visitors discover unexpected remnants, such as a discarded floss pick on the floor or an apple core floating in a forgotten cup of beer, they are invited to imagine the people, conversations, and moments that preceded their arrival. Rather than depicting the party itself, the work examines the traces left behind, suggesting that absence can be just as evocative as presence.
